What a proactive AI assistant actually does

"Proactive" is the most abused word in AI marketing — usually it means a notification. Real proactivity is an architecture: the system has to observe continuously, maintain a model of what's happening, and decide when silence is wrong.

Observation loop, not request loop

LivePair doesn't wait for a message. It ingests screen and audio continuously, maintains beliefs about the session, and evaluates each new segment against what it's tracking. The prompt you never type is the point.

Consequences, not events

A proactive system tracks what changes mean: the price on screen just dropped but the total obligation went up; the doc you're presenting was edited five minutes ago; the thing you decided an hour ago conflicts with what was just said.

Each of those is a delta against a tracked item — the copilot re-derives impact and surfaces it before you act on the stale version.

Knowing when to stay quiet

Proactivity that fires on everything is spam. LivePair accumulates weak evidence per tracked item and only speaks when the aggregate matters or a decision approaches — 'nothing needed' is a valid turn. Its uncertainty display is part of the same discipline.

Where this matters

Anywhere decisions happen faster than you can type a question: negotiations, live demos, debugging under pressure, on-call incidents. Live sessions at $10/hour; agent chat on prepaid credits. Sign up.
