How to Pay for AI Image, Video & Chat with Crypto (BTC, ETH, USDT, SOL — No Subscription)

LivePair AI ·

Most AI platforms want your card on file and a monthly subscription. LivePair works differently: top up a prepaid balance with Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, USDC, Solana, or 300+ other cryptocurrencies, then spend it per result — images, video clips, chat tokens. No recurring charge, no expiry, and the balance sits there until you use it.

Why pay for AI with crypto at all

Three real reasons, not ideology. First: no card required. A large share of the world — and a large share of the crypto-native crowd — either can't or won't attach a card to a subscription service. Crypto settles it in one transaction.

Second: no subscription traps. AI platforms love the monthly-tier model because most users forget to cancel. A prepaid balance is the opposite shape — you pay once, you spend it down, you top up when you want. When the balance is empty, calls stop; nothing keeps billing a card you forgot about.

Third: privacy. A card payment leaves a merchant record with your card network and bank. A crypto payment settles to a wallet address — the merchant sees a transaction, not your card file. If you generate private content, the payment rail matching the product's privacy posture is not a small thing.

What you can pay with

Crypto checkout runs through NOWPayments — 300+ coins and tokens on multiple networks. The ones people actually reach for: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Solana (SOL), XRP, Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Tron (TRX), Toncoin (TON), BNB — plus privacy coins like Monero (XMR) for the crowd that wants the payment itself quiet.

You pay from whatever holds your coins already: a Binance or Coinbase account (withdraw/send works fine), MetaMask, Trust Wallet, a Ledger, an exchange balance — the invoice just gives you an address and an amount. Network choice matters for fees: USDT on Tron or USDC on Solana settles for cents; ERC-20 on mainnet costs more.

How it actually works

1. Sign in (Google, thirty seconds) and open Billing. 2. Pick an amount — packs run $5 to $500. 3. Choose crypto at checkout. 4. NOWPayments issues an invoice with a coin, an amount, and an address/QR. 5. Send from any wallet — credits land when the transaction confirms, and the ledger shows the credit immediately.

The balance is USD-denominated: you pay in coin, you hold dollars of credit. Crypto volatility is the payment's problem, not the balance's — once it settles, $25 of credit is $25 of usage whether BTC pumped or dumped since.

What the credits buy

One balance covers three surfaces. Chat: the playground and the OpenAI-compatible /v1/chat/completions endpoint — 50+ models including Claude, GPT-6, Grok, Gemini, DeepSeek, billed per token. Studio: image and video generation on Seedream, Qwen Image, Wan, and the private line — billed per result. API: an lp_ key that settles every /v1/agent call against the same pool.

Metering is honest by construction: provider cost plus a fixed margin, debited in micro-USD, and every debit lands in a visible ledger at Billing → Transactions. Failed generations don't settle — you only pay for results.

The agent path: x402, USDC on Base

If the caller is software rather than a person, there's a second rail that skips the account entirely: x402. The API returns HTTP 402 with a USDC price, the agent's wallet signs a payment on Base, the request retries and executes. No signup, no API key, no stored balance — every call is a one-shot payment.

This is the emerging standard for machine-to-machine payment (Coinbase's protocol, now run as an open spec), and LivePair's media and chat endpoints already speak it. For human users the prepaid balance is simpler; for autonomous agents, x402 is the whole point.

Card vs crypto vs x402 — which to use

Card via PayPal is the default: instant, familiar, refundable. Pick it if crypto isn't already in a wallet somewhere. Crypto is for the people who already hold it — the flow is invoice → send → confirmed, and privacy coins are available if the payment itself should be quiet. x402 is for agents and automated spend — if you're a person clicking buttons, you want the balance, not per-call settlement.

All three rails feed the same product. The choice is about who pays and how, not about what you get.

FAQ

Can I pay for AI image generation with Bitcoin?
Yes — top up LivePair credits with BTC (or ETH, SOL, USDT, USDC, and 300+ coins) at Billing → crypto checkout via NOWPayments. Credits are USD-denominated and never expire.
What cryptocurrencies does LivePair accept?
300+ via NOWPayments — BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL, XRP, LTC, DOGE, TRX, TON, BNB, XMR and more, on multiple networks. Pay from Binance, Coinbase, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, or any wallet.
