LivePair Is an App Now — Install on iPhone & Android in Seconds (No Store)
LivePair AI ·
Most of the people opening LivePair are on a phone, so the studio now installs like an app: one prompt on Android, three taps on iOS, and it lives on your home screen opening fullscreen — same account, same credit balance, no store in the middle. This is what the install actually does and why we deliberately skipped the app stores.
What “installing” means here
LivePair is a progressive web app — the site itself carries everything an app needs: its own icon, a standalone fullscreen window, splash behavior, and safe-area handling for notches and gesture bars. Installing it doesn't download a separate binary; it promotes the site you already use to a real home-screen app.
Once installed, it behaves like any app: its own icon, its own window in the app switcher, no address bar or tab strip. The studio it opens is the same one at livepairai.com/studio — same login session, same prepaid balance, same private generations.
On Android: one prompt
Open the studio in Chrome. On mobile, an install sheet appears on its own after a few seconds — tap “Install LivePair” and it lands on your home screen. If the sheet doesn't show, the browser menu has the same command: ⋮ → “Install app” (or “Add to Home Screen” on some builds).
No sideloading, no APK, no 'allow unknown sources' warning — the browser handles it like any installable web app.
On iPhone and iPad: Share → Add to Home Screen
iOS doesn't offer a programmatic install prompt, so it's a manual three-tap flow — and it only works in Safari: open livepairai.com in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with an up arrow), scroll to “Add to Home Screen”, tap Add.
The icon then sits next to your other apps and opens the studio fullscreen. iPadOS does the same thing on iPad — the studio's layout already handles tablet widths.
Why no App Store or Play Store listing
Two practical reasons. First, velocity: a web app ships the moment a deploy lands — every new model, every fix, every price change reaches installed users without an update download or a multi-day review queue.
Second, scope: the catalog carries 60+ image and video models with per-result pricing, and the studio is designed around private-by-default generation with automatic deletion. A web app keeps the whole product surface under our control — one build, every platform, nothing reinterpreted by a store's policy team.
What it costs on mobile
Nothing changed: installing is free, and generations bill the same per-result way — images from a few cents, 5-second video clips from about $2, drawn from one prepaid balance that never expires. The balance chip in the studio shows the same number whether you open it from a phone, a tablet, or a desktop.
New accounts still get starter credits, so the install path doubles as the try-it path: install, generate once, decide.
Notes and limits
Generation needs a connection — the models run hosted, so offline mode wouldn't produce anything anyway. Results stay private and auto-delete after the retention window, on mobile exactly as on desktop: download what you want to keep.
If your home-screen icon ever opens the wrong page, remove it and re-add from the studio — the manifest now points installs at the studio directly rather than any legacy surface.
FAQ
- Is the LivePair app free to install?
- Yes — it's the web studio added to your home screen; there's nothing to buy to install it. Generations bill per result from one prepaid balance, identical to desktop.
- Does the installed app work offline?
- No — generation runs on hosted models, so it needs a connection. Your account and the studio shell still load instantly from the home-screen icon.
- Why isn't LivePair on the App Store or Google Play?
- The studio ships as a web app so updates land the moment they deploy — new models, fixes, and pricing reach installed users without an update download or a store review queue. Installing to the home screen gives the same icon and fullscreen window.
- Do I need Safari to install on iPhone?
- Yes — iOS only offers Add to Home Screen from Safari's Share menu. On Android, Chrome and other Chromium browsers install it from the page's own prompt or the browser menu.
