LivePair vs Gong
This is the honest version: Gong and LivePair aren't the same category. Gong reviews the call afterward for the whole revenue org. LivePair works during the call for the person talking. Many teams would use both.
What Gong is
Revenue intelligence for sales organizations: it records every call, transcribes, and gives managers analytics — talk ratios, deal-risk signals, pipeline and forecast modules. Buyers pay a mandatory platform fee plus per-user licenses, on annual contracts, typically org-wide.
What LivePair is
A live assistant for the rep in the seat. During the call it tracks obligations (every prospect question stays open until answered), objections and how they landed, commitments you made, and the coverage checklist — pain, money, decision, next step. After the call it hands you the record: summary, objections, commitments, follow-ups. No recording archive, no org dashboard.
Pricing
| Gong | LivePair | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry cost | $5,000–50,000/yr platform fee + ~$1,300–1,600/user/yr | $3 for 60 minutes — first purchase includes a 30-min bonus |
| Contract | Annual or multi-year, org-wide | None — pay by the minute |
| 10-rep team, year one | ≈ $21,000+ (licenses + platform fee) | ≈ usage — e.g. 15h/rep/mo ≈ $5,400/yr for all ten |
| Who it's for | The revenue org — managers, RevOps, forecast | The rep — during the call itself |
Gong's pricing isn't public; figures are buyer-reported ranges (platform fee $5K–50K, ~$1,300–1,600/user/yr). If you need org-wide call recording and pipeline analytics, that's what you're paying for — a different product.
Where the products differ
During vs. after
Gong tells your manager how the call went. LivePair tells you — while there's still time to fix it: the objection that never got an answer, the follow-up you just promised, the next step that needs a date.
Per-seat licenses vs. usage
Gong bills every seat whether the rep uses it or not, on a contract. LivePair bills minutes actually spent in live calls. A rep who does four calls a week costs about what Gong charges to keep the seat warm.
The rep is the customer
Gong's buyer is the VP of Sales. LivePair's buyer is the person on the call — a rep can start with $3 without asking anyone's permission, and a team never needs a platform agreement.
Pick Gong if
- →You run a sales org and need call recording, coaching analytics, and forecast across every rep
- →Your CRM workflow needs org-level pipeline intelligence and integrations
Pick LivePair if
- →You're the rep on the call and want a second brain during it — not a review of it tomorrow
- →You're a founder or small team that can't sign a $20K+/yr contract to find out if call assist works
- →You want usage pricing that scales with actual call volume
Gong pricing is not published; ranges here are buyer-reported (platform fee $5K–50K/yr, licenses ~$1,300–1,600/user/yr, annual contracts). LivePair pricing is billed, not estimated: $3/hour by the minute.
